Summer Time!

So it’s the start of the Summer here in Wisconsin! We are making every effort to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery here. Mitzi and I decided that if we are going to be here, we better learn and enjoy what the Midwest has to offer our family.

At the end of May, we attended the “Chocolate Fest”. It was a quaint little festival/fair located in a tiny town of Burlington Wisconsin. There was chocolate of course, lots of fair rides, the booths of junk where people are trying to get you to buy the things no one needs, and of course - fried food. We decided to go the night they had fireworks planned. I have to admit, we were impressed with the firework show. It was over 20 minutes long, we had great seats, and it wasn’t crowded at all.

Where have I been?

I am asking you... Oh how time flies and you would think that with sooo much going on, I would have kept up with this... But no, I didn't. Now the question is, can I get it started again. I hope so. I just noticed today that I have hit over 5,000 page views since I added the counter - Soo sorry I have been silent for so long.

Our First Visitor – Aunt Kris and Grandpa Bergener

Last night Benjamin had a surprise knock at the front door. It was Kristina! He was soo thrilled to see Kris and Grandpa Bergener. Aunt Kris was visiting some doctors in Ohio and decided to drive over 400 miles (because it was soo much closer than the 1500 miles) to see our family! What a great treat this was for all! The sad thing is, they have to leave Sunday morning to go back because Aunt Kris has some additional appointments Monday morning in Ohio.

Due to the short amount of time we had with them, the only thing we could think of to do was to take them to the Zoo as we had purchased an annual family pass last week. It was fun to spend this time with family.

Sunday morning will be hard, but we are enjoying our time now with them!

Zooper Fun Day!

This last weekend, Milwaukee had a "free admission zoo" day. As you may be aware, if we perceive something as a good deal – we go for it! The weather was amazing, the kids were wonderful, the zoo was busy but not to the point to where you say to your spouse “If we don’t leave here in 5 minutes; I am going to lose it” situation. The animals were active and playful. We had fun seeing a “new zoo” as we’ve never been to this one before and did I mention it was free? Just checking…

And of course, we did bring the camera.

Picture Time

This last Sunday, Mitzi and I knew we were not going to make it to church on time... So what do we do? We take pictures of the kids all dressed up of course prior to going! LOL! Hey, the important part is that we made it prior to the Sacrament being passed - right? So enjoy!

Quiche Loraine

A couple of days prior to Easter I had decided that I wanted to have a Quiche as part of our Easter breakfast. We were fortunate to be invited over to the Rufeners for a gourmet Easter brunch! After which we tried to watch conference with 6 kids – thank goodness for DVR’s. Attached is a picture of “Miss Loraine” which was quite tasty if I say so myself!
