Turning One - Hailee Jo

It’s been almost a year - seriously??? This Friday, October 29th 2010 will be Hailee's first Birthday. WOW - It’s crazy to think it’s been a year. Where has the time gone? Its seems like we just moved out of that dang apartment 3 months ago and traveled down I-80 screaming – what were we thinking? I still find myself asking that same question from time to time. (Shaking my head and laughing) It’s been a year – I will tell you that.

With Hailee’s birthday quickly approaching Mitzi and I found ourselves with the three little ones at a place we vowed never to go back when they filed for Bankruptcy – Kiddie Kandids. There is a whole story behind that one, but we won’t go into that today.

We are picture freaks – anyone who knows us well can vouch for that. With Benjamin and Abby we had their pictures taken at 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, 1 year and then every six months after that. Some might say a tad excessive, but I don’t think so – they change so much so fast that I want help remembering them. Needless to say, we missed the 6 month mile stone with Hailee.

Hailee has been a wonderful addition to our family! In general she is an observer, but she can also be quite the “ham”. She is a very happy little girl that LOVE’S her big brother and thinks kindly of her overbearing big sister – sorry Abby; Hailee does love you, but you have been known to be quite bossy. She can say Dada – of course! Buba was just after that and Mitzi says she knows Mama, but I haven’t heard it. LOL! She loves waving bye and she put everything, seriously EVERYTHING in her mouth – this has been quite challenging.

Hailee is known to rub her eyes and ears when she is very tired and she will go down to bed by herself with a bottle and her blanket when strapped in her car seat. Hailee has a wonderful smile and a very contagious laugh – she’s a true Thompson through and through. She has been crawling for quite some time now and she can stand up on her own and balance herself. Mitzi said she took a small step last night and I missed it. We tried to get her to do it again, but she caught on to what we were trying to get her to do and she wanted nothing to do with it.

So enjoy with us! Happy Birthday Hailee Jo – WE LOVE YOU!

Cute cute cute. Your kids are so adorable, I can't stand it. Kids DO change a ton, everytime I go back home, I'm greeted with seemingly brand new nieces and nephews! :)
