Happy Birthday Abigail

Our little girl is now a year old. It’s amazing how fast kids grow up. As a tradition Mitzi and I started with Benjamin; we purchase a cake for the little one to dig into on their 1st birthday. Abigail was hesitant and did not want to get dirty – unlike her older brother who had his first birthday cake everywhere.

For fun, Mitzi and I dug out Benjamin’s picture to compare the two at this time.

Abigail, we wish you a very happy birthday! We love you so very much. You've been a wonderful and joyful addition to our family! As you continue to grow, we watch with a tear in our eyes as we know this doesn't last forever and before we know it; you will be all grown up on your own.

Love Dad, Mom and Buba!

Oh My Goodness; My Dream Home!

There are some talented people out there! So we took the family out last week to the annual festival of trees. Every year I see the most beautiful and elaborate Christmas decorations - specifically Christmas trees. I love getting ideas, seeing people’s creativity. Then reality sits in and I say: I would never spend that much to decorate a fake Costco tree! What caught my eye this year was this castle! Oh my goodness; that was all I could say. Some people are so patient and talented; I could never do this…

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

I had to do it; I had to post the master piece... I've always been one of those, that likes to try to get the Christmas tree looking perfect. Well this year we can't decorate the bottom as Abby would try to remove all objects in her reach. We never had this problem with Benjamin. I have to admit, I believe I will be one of those families that will have two Christmas trees in their home - one for the living room for me and one for the family room that was decorated for and by the kids. I tell you there is something wrong with me... Enjoy!

Here Comes Santa Clause Take Two!

So as you know, we saw Santa Clause last week while out seeing the Christmas lights. Mitzi and I wanted to get a picture of the two kids with Santa that was just perfect. While we got a great picture of the kids, Abby was in her PJ’s and Benjamin was in grubby clothes. So a week later, we go out again to get our perfect picture. Oh, and we are doing this for the kids!

Well, we are sufficed. We got a picture and the kids had a wonderful time. We invited some close friends of ours to venture out into the snow storm to see Santa. It was a wonderful evening – totally worth it!

Our Two Pea Pods!

Ok, so we know we are cheesy - and that we are one of those odd parents that make their kids do odd things... Here is one of those things. When Benjamin was born we purchased a Halloween costume as we were sooo excited for our 1st child’s Halloween! We found a pea pod costume and fell in love. With our second child we took the easy approach - give her the pea pod costume... Note - Benjamin was only 4 months old his first Halloween and Abby was 10 months old. I vividly remember squeezing Benjamin into this costume and here I am thinking... Oh Abby will fit - no problem. Thank goodness she is smaller, so here they are! Our two pea pods!

Next year Abby gets to be a bear – another hammy down from Benjamin. I wonder if she’ll do the Nascar driver costume when she’s three??? I maybe pushing it!

Here comes Santa Clause, Here come Santa Clause...

So for family night we decided to take the kids out and look at the lights at Thanksgiving Point, read and discuss the Christmas story and while we were there we found out that Santa and his reindeer where available for a visit! As we stood in line waiting for our turn Mitzi and I looked at each other and both said… “I wish we would have known he was going to be here…” Abby was in her PJ’s, and Benjamin was wearing older clothes as he was outside playing with a friend today. Soo what do we do… we take tons of pictures and say, Well be back next week ready to take some more! Apparently Santa and the reindeer will be at Thanksgiving Point the next couple of Mondays and you get a free picture of Santa w/ the kids. So enjoy and Happy Holidays!
